Dr Katy Jackson Psychologist & Therapist

My Clinical Background

With over 30 years of clinical experience, my work is grounded in a mind–body–spirit approach, integrating psychological wellbeing, nervous system regulation, trauma recovery, and physical health.

My background in psychotherapy, health psychology and trauma therapy enables me to integrate a range of evidence-based and body-informed approaches, including trauma therapy and EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and parts work (IFS-informed).

Alongside this, I draw on nervous system–informed and body-based approaches, including polyvagal work, breathwork, movement, stretching, EFT (tapping), and hypnotherapy, supporting regulation, emotional processing, and mind–body integration.

In addition to my psychological training, I am a trained yoga teacher (currently completing advanced yoga teacher training), and I have a strong background in holistic and body-based practices, including Chinese medicine, shiatsu and reflexology. This allows me to work with the whole person, addressing underlying patterns and causes rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

Let’s Work Together

My Therapeutic Approach

My work is grounded in psychological theory and clinical practice, drawing from a wide range of evidence-based approaches. I aim to make complex psychological ideas clear, practical, and accessible. Sessions are collaborative and compassionate, and adapted to each person’s individual needs.

Alongside psychological exploration, we may also attend to how experiences and coping patterns are held in the body and nervous system.

This work is not about fixing or forcing change. It is about understanding the emotional, psychological, physical, and relational pieces of the puzzle, and using them to create a personalised and sustainable path forward.

Where appropriate, therapeutic “homework” may include reflection or journaling, alongside practical tools to support emotional regulation, such as breathing practices, grounding techniques, or gentle movement.

What Makes My Work Unique

My work combines evidence-based psychology with a holistic lens, supporting emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing through accessible, inclusive frameworks.

What makes my work distinctive is the integration of:

  • Clinical expertise as a Chartered Psychologist and Psychotherapist

  • A strong mind–body perspective, informed by Chinese medicine, reflexology, and yoga teacher training

  • Trauma- and nervous system–practice, grounded in both psychology and physiology (poly-vagal theory)

  • Neurodiversity-affirming approaches, particularly for women and late-diagnosed adults

  • A warm, collaborative style that values lived experience and meets people as equals

I am interested in understanding underlying causes, not just managing symptoms — and in supporting people to move beyond survival into thriving, creativity, play, and meaning.

To support lasting change, I often work collaboratively with other professionals such as GPs, nutritionists, educators, and organisational teams, creating joined-up care that reflects the complexity of real lives.

What I Offer

IIn addition to individual therapy, I provide neurodivergent coaching, webinars, and workshops designed to make psychological insight accessible, engaging, and directly applicable. I also collaborate with organisations, clinical teams, and professional groups to deliver interactive training, webinars, and corporate wellbeing programmes.

Areas I commonly work with include:

  • Neurodiversity – ADHD and autism across the lifespan, self-esteem and identity, emotional regulation, physical health issues , and strengths-based strategies to support wellbeing at home and in the workplace.

  • Women’s Health – Hormonal transitions including perimenopause and menopause, fertility-related challenges, identity and life transitions, and the intersection of ADHD, autism, and women’s health.

  • Trauma & Nervous System Regulation – Understanding of how stress and trauma impact the nervous system, and developing practical, accessible tools to build resilience, stability, and capacity over time.

  • Mind–Body Health – Recognising the close relationship between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and the nervous system.

  • Mental Health & Burnout – Prevention and recovery from burnout, anxiety, low mood, and overwhelm, with a focus on sustainable wellbeing and long-term change.

My work supports individuals and teams to deepen understanding, build on strengths, and develop realistic, evidence-based strategies for inclusion, resilience, and meaningful change.
